The Black Madonna of Perpetual Help is a wellspring of strength, life-giving fertility, resistance to injustice combined with gentleness, humility, and comfort. We bring our petitions to her in our devotion just as Jesus did as a child, who ran to his mother for comfort, sustenance, and love. As Jesus told us, she is now our mother, and we are her children (John 19:26–27). And so, we come to her, humble of heart, in our need, with our petitions, in the name of her most holy Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A Simple Prayer
O Black Madonna of Perpetual Help, Mother of all creation,
You who are rooted in the earth and reach to the stars,
We honor your wisdom, your strength, and your tender heart.
Guide us in the path of justice, compassion, and love for all.
Bless our communities, our families, and our world,
That all may know belonging and grace, through your Son,
our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Prayer for Justice and Inclusivity
Holy Mother, Black Madonna of Perpetual Help,
Whose image bears the wisdom of ages and the resilience of the marginalized,
We come before you seeking your intercession for a world longing for justice.
Inspire us to dismantle systems of oppression,
To welcome all with open hearts,
And to champion the dignity of every person,
Especially those who have been cast aside or silenced.
May your dark beauty and outstretched arms remind us that holiness is found in all forms,
And that divine love knows no bounds of gender, orientation, or race.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your son, in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
